Sorry!!

Apologies for the lack of updates and rambles, I've been swamped with coursework (now all finished) and revision. So here's a brief update.

The new Dylan album is... rather good.

Isn't it wonderfully ironic that as Dylan has become older, and his horrible voice has become increasingly more...horrible, his music, in contrast, has become all the more accessible?

The new album is a very cosy collection of bluesy ballads - it's as if Dylan has created a tribute album to the music he plays on his 'Theme Time Radio Hour'. Very nice.

The new Horrors album is also fantastic. A psychedelic blend of post-punk goth rock, an unexpected and very mature sound.

I can't say how much credit for this is due to the band's new producer: Portishead's Geoff Barrow, but I'm not sure I care either. Don't believe me? I don't blame you, the old stuff from 'Strange House' was a bit hit and miss.

For verification, check out the video for 'Sea Within A Sea' – which is excellent. A nostalgia tinted tribute to old school pop music shows (reminds me of Joy Division's first televised performance on 'So It Goes'), filtered through a psychedelic lens.
